Infrared (IR) gas detectors are vital for hydrocarbon gas safety due to their long lifespan, low maintenance, high accuracy, fast response, and immunity to poisoning, making them ideal for detecting flammable and potentially dangerous hydrocarbons in hazardous industrial environments. Unlike other sensors, IR detectors can operate in oxygen-deficient conditions, don't require continuous calibration for most dusts/humidity, and can provide accurate readings over the entire 0-100% Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) range, which is crucial for preventing fires and explosions.
Model IR-700-CH is a non-intrusive “Smart” sensor designed to detect and monitor combustible hydrocarbon gases in air over the range of 0-100% LEL using miniature non-dispersive Infrared Optical (NDIR) sensor technology. The IR-700-CH’s rugged framework includes an electro-polished 316 stainless steel housing with fully encapsulated electronics and dual layer surge protection. This innovative design virtually eliminates sensor failure due to water ingress, corrosion, vibration, and transient spikes. A primary feature of the Model IR-700-CH is embedded intuitive software that simplifies operator interface by guiding the user through routine calibration, configuration, and fault diagnostic functions using a builtin alpha/numeric display. The Model IR-700-CH is equipped with standard analog 4-20mA, and Modbus™ RS-485 outputs.

The GD10P infrared gas detector is the benchmark for combustible gas detection. It has set the standard for gas detectors in the areas of safety, stability and low maintenance. GD10P comes with a 5 year warranty. The GD10P differs from all other infrared gas detectors because it uses a solid-state infrared source. The optical block is so robust that it comes with a 15 year warranty and provides an unparalleled detector stability and an unmatched service life. The GD10P also features heated optics to prevent condensation, a HART interface, fail-safe operation and global approvals.
